Holiday Memories

I missed Dad while I watched the parade today. There weren't many 24ths recently that I spent with Dad, but he's a parade kind of guy. He appreciates the work other people do, and their talents, so he liked to support the hard work and marching bands, etc.

It was a tradition for him and Mom to go see the floats while they were on display, since Mom was never awake to watch the parade, so this year Mom took all of us and the grandkids. They loved it, and loved seeing the floats on TV today. Dad would have liked to be around for that. He probably would have made a really yummy breakfast to eat while watching it all too, at least he always did for the New Year's parade.

Miss you Dad. Wish we could be playing with you today...you in your long pants and shoes and socks in this blazing hot heat--after you piddle around in the yard for a bit.
