Wednesday

Sorry about the lateness of the update...I've been out at Papa's and Grandma's, both enjoying the day with kids entertained with cousins, and really missing Papa and Grandma there smiling at the babies.

There isn't much to report today anyway. He's not dead yet. That's always good news.

His liver didn't change from yesterday. Not great, if you ask me, but better than getting worse. (You can all quote me on this amazingly insightful way of informing!)

They were doing a CT scan on his bowels to check for a bacterial infection. (I've let this part remain personal for Dad...and still will. Just know it's important they figure out if there is something going on.) They also catheterized him again so they could keep track of his fluid output a little easier--good thing they did too, he was storing up for a rainy day!

He was very drowsy today, more so than yesterday, and this evening he's 'out of it' again. He said the year was 1999 (Mom and I decided it was good he at least got the 9 part). They think it's just the benadryl and electorlites he's getting (they were low). He's also getting blood, which they hope will help.

And one little, 'ahhh, how sweet' moment. Even though Dad's been sleeping today, Mom was holding his hand at one point, and he was holding back. She needed to get up and tried to slip her hand out, but he held on to her. "Ahhhh." It was good for Mom, she needs lots of those moments right now. It's hard even for me to be there and have Dad stare blankly at me when I ask him a question. She's there all day every day. (I am relieving her tomorrow morning so she can sleep after a night of work!)

Sooo, not a completely boring day. He does manage to keep us all entertained even when he's sick!
