I talked to Mom about Dad's update...
Mom said Dialysis made Dad's hands look less swollen. (This is just an experimental band aide, in my opinion. It isn't healing anything, it's just giving the kidneys a chance to catch up, if they can.) They want to do it at least two more days to see what it does, if anything.
He will wake up long enough to answer questions, but is right back to sleep. He's less alert than yesterday. Hopefully some of the water coming off (dialysis) and the laxative will help his brain function.
His bili went up again. This is, yet again, not good.
SO...
The doctor said about what the other one did Friday. Dad's just really sick and they don't think he'll ever get back to 'normal' again. They don't think he'll be able to work again, or have a normal life. IF he makes it long enough to go home, he may not even get out of bed again.
Somehow it's been easier for us to take today, maybe because we're too emotionally exhausted to know how to react (or more morbidly, maybe we're used to being told one day he's going to die, and then the next day that they're more hopeful). Either way, the future may be more grim than any of us want or expected...in the beginning.

Keep those chins up. I just wish so bad I was the one being able to hook him up for the Dialysis and take care of that. Let him know about our baby, Eva Ardell. I've been thinking about you all every day and loving and praying for you all. Kiss on those cute kiddos for me and let us know how else and what we can help with!
ReplyDeleteUncle Jeff and Family. All the Actons are thinking about you and praying often for you. It is not fair that you have to go through this. Keep your spirits up the best you can. We pray that you will be equal to the task placed before you.
