From the docs today

Head to toe again??

Head: CT Scan showed no bleeding.

Lungs/abdomen: yesterday his 'output' of fluid was a liter more than his 'input'--SUPER!!! GO DAD!!! I don't know if that means there is less fluid in his lungs, I wasn't there to ask all the questions (I will be later though). Also his bili is still up.

They will retry the MRI today because he is alert.

Arms: they did an ultrasound this morning and found no clots.

Legs/feet: probably still pretty swollen, if it's different I'll let you know.

The MOST encouraging sign today is that Dad is alert. And we're talking ALERT. They told him it is Friday; he was surprised. He's been asking about the chemo and trying to understand what's going on. He said the most frustrating thing is that he can't say what he wants to. He even asked if he'd been going to the bathroom (see, dignity there), and he understands now that he has a catheter.

I am VERY anxious to get to the hospital. I told Mom that we needed to tell him everything while he's still alert and ask him to help us make future decisions. We're going to find out more about quality of life if he pulls through this, because Dad doesn't need to suffer just to live a few more months, and I think you all would agree with that.

Anyway, we'll be sure to read all your comments to him today, while he's awake. LOVE YOU ALL!! I'll report more when I can get there are check over things myself!

  1. This quote is from a book I am currently reading."The judgement of a man's greatness is not only to be measured in the mission he accomplishes but in the obstacles he has overcome in the process." I thought this was fitting. I am one of those admirers that check this blog hourly. I know that there are so many praying for Jeff and all of your family right now. We love you!
I was able to talk to Andrea on the phone yesterday for the first time in 8 years(this coming wednesday). It was wonderful!
