Hi all, this is Andrea writing. I love love love reading what my sisters write on here. This is very hard for us all to go through and if nothing else this is a great journal for us all.
I would like to say a few things about my mother. I watch her sit by my fathers side day by day with tears in her eyes and pain in her heart. I know all too well the bitter sadness she feels when she goes home to a bed that is half empty, a closet full of shoes and clothes that should be worn, a bathroom full of toothpaste, brushes, deodorant, and cologne that sit untouched, and a deafening quiet in the air. It is the special little things that she misses. Dad twirling her hair as they sit together, and the moments when the game is so exciting that he has to stop. Dad loving the peacefulness of a Mom blissfully happy with her daily newspaper and banana. Mom cries at the impending hair loss that Dad will go through as she softly runs her fingers through the hair that she has loved for over 36 years.
I don't think that any of us, lest those who have gone through it, can imagine the daily pain and heartache that she carries around. I can understand slightly, but the return of my husband is usually guaranteed. I love you Mom. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I will hold your hand and mend your heart best I can, I promise.
So let's not forget Mom in these times. Pray for her as well, and give thanks to her for being strong enough to stand next to her husband while he fights for his life.
Thank you to those who have fed Mom and brought love packed packages. We all appreciate the work and thought from your end.
