Tonight.

Dad was finally starting to come out of sedation a tiny bit this evening. He's been out of it all day--both b/c of the biopsy and b/c when your liver isn't working you get a build up of ammonia in your body, which your liver usually converts into urea. Having ammonia in your system causes you to be delirious.
He was coming around enough tonight that when I was saying good bye and loves, he said, "I love you too. Jenn." Tons different than the rest of the day.
Andrea told him that he has Leukemia and he acted surprised--so he definitely hasn't been coherent today.

There is not prognosis yet...it depends on how Dad's body reacts to the chemo.

The chemo is actually a 24 hour drip, so it's very intense. It can make him very nauseous and anxious, which they will treat him for. Mom is staying at the hospital again tonight just to watch him.

AGAIN, IF YOU'D LIKE TO CALL, PLEASE CALL ME SO MOM CAN FOCUS ON DAD. (No one has bothered them, I just want to make sure, it's the least I can do.)

I'll update more in the morning...when I hear it.

  1. I hope that the chemo works for him. It was fun to see and visit with your parents last Friday. If you guys need anything, we are just a few blocks away from the Hunstman Center. You are all in our prayers. We love you!

  2. Go Chemo! With chemo and Uncle Jeff being a good stubborn Black we can beat it. We love you guys, and remember we have some extra room at our house if anyone needs a place to stay. (andrea?)
